2024 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. the Competition
Are you on the hunt for a new pickup truck in New Hampshire? The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 should be at the top of your list. The new Sierra full-size — available at Banks Autos in Concord — out-styles and outpowers competitors like the F-150, Ram 1500, and more.
2024 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2024 Ford F-150
The GMC Sierra 1500 and Ford F-150 are among the top trucks available to drivers today. How do the latest 2024 models compare, and which truck will come out on top? If you want the best balance of style and strength, the answer is the Sierra.
Best-in-class features
Starting with best-in-class features, there’s a clear winner: the GMC Sierra 1500. With its optional CarbonPro™ carbon fiber-composite construction, six-function MultiPro Tailgate, and best-in-class cargo volume, the Sierra 1500’s bed options aren’t just better than the F-150 — they’re better than any other truck on the market.
The full-size GMC truck also offers up to 14 different camera views, including a transparent trailer view, more than other trucks in the class, and is offered with Super Cruise™ hands-free driving technology. Ford has similar tech with BlueCruise, but it’s more limited: It works on just 130,000 miles of roads and doesn’t work while towing. Super Cruise™ works on 400,000 miles of road, even while towing.
Better luxury options
GMC vehicles are well known for their Denali trim levels, which offer a level of luxury that competitors struggle to match. The Ford F-150 has luxury trims of its own, but they’re not quite as enticing. For example, the Sierra 1500 Denali starts at about $3,500 less[1] than the equivalent F-150 Platinum, so you get features like perforated leather seating, open-pore wood accents, and a 13.4-inch-diagonal touch screen (larger than the 12-incher in the Ford) at a more affordable price. And if you want the absolute peak of luxury, the Denali Ultimate is the most luxurious truck in the class with 16-way power front seats with massaging, heating, and ventilation and over 40 diagonal inches of combined digital displays.
Off-roading glamour
A capable alternative to the Denali trims are the AT4 models, which provide a similar level of luxury while also offering excellent off-roading capability. For the GMC Sierra 1500, your options are the AT4 and AT4X, while the Ford F-150 has the Raptor and Raptor R. And again, the GMC offers better value without compromising features. The AT4 undercuts the Raptor by about $12,000, and the AT4X undercuts the Raptor R by a whopping $20,000.[1] Despite this, neither of the Raptor models offer a basic front and rear locking differential. So you not only save a lot of money by going with the Sierra 1500, but may also be able to go further off the beaten path.
Whether you’re looking for functionality, luxury, or even value, you can count on finding more of all three in the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 than in the 2024/span> Ford F-150. 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2024 Ram 1500
If you’re in the market for a truck that doesn’t break a sweat on the job, can conquer just about anything nature throws at it, and does all of that while feeling as luxurious as a Rolls Royce, there’s a clear king: the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Contenders like the 2024 Ram 1500 try their best but simply fall short. Here’s how it comes down.
Denali Ultimate: Simply the best
Ram gives luxury a shot with models like the Ram 1500 Limited, but compared to offerings like the GMC Sierra 1500 Denali and Denali Ultimate, there’s simply no comparison. Heated and ventilated forge-perforated leather front seats with massage, open-pore Paldao wood with laser-etched topographical maps, stainless steel Bose® speaker grilles, leather-trimmed door panels, and a 15-inch color head-up display are just some of the premium features that set the Denali Ultimate apart from not just the Ram 1500, but all other trucks on the market. If you want luxury, you go Denali.
Ready for work in the real world
With best-in-class bed volume, a six-function MultiPro™ tailgate, an optional CarbonPro™ carbon fiber-composite bed, a powerful Duramax® turbo-diesel engine, up to 14 camera views, and tow-capable Super Cruise™ driving technology, the 2024 Sierra 1500 is a truck that’s ready to work in the real world. The Ram 1500 has strong towing numbers on paper, but that’s about the extent of it.
When it comes to actually getting work done, you’ll find that all of the features we just mentioned make jobs easier with the Sierra 1500. There’s more space in the bed, more ways to use the tailgate, more low-end power when towing heavy trailers, and more all-around visibility. Can the Ram 1500’s hands-free driving system work while towing? Nope, because it doesn’t even have hands-free capability at all. How much torque does the Ram 1500’s diesel engine produce? Zero. It doesn’t offer one.
Everyday conveniences
When it comes to interior technologies, you’ll find that this is where the trucks are the most closely matched. Yet the Sierra manages to edge ahead in most areas. For example, both trucks have a decent infotainment system, but most Sierra 1500 trucks are equipped with a 13.4-inch touch-screen display, compared to a 12-inch touch screen for most Ram 1500 trucks. When on the jobs, and especially when wearing gloves, the GMC’s larger display can go a long way toward enhancing day-to-day convenience.
Both infotainment systems also have wireless smartphone connectivity, but the GMC Sierra 1500 goes a step further with Google built-in, providing even better daily functionality. Both trucks are offered with an upgraded sound system, but the Ram 1500’s only features 10 speakers compared to the GMC Sierra 1500’s 12-speaker premium Bose® setup.
From work-friendly features to luxury appointments, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 sets a high bar that the 2024 Ram 1500 simply fails to reach. Check out the Denali Ultimate trim or the powerful off-road Sierra 1500 AT4X at Banks Auto in Concord, New Hampshire!
2024 GMC Sierra 1500 vs. 2024 Nissan Titan in Concord, NH
Shopping for a new truck can be difficult. Often, picking a truck over another means having to make compromises. If a truck lacks in one area, it usually makes up in another, and choosing the right one is a matter of what matters to each individual. When it comes to the GMC Sierra 1500 against the Nissan Titan, though, choosing the right truck isn’t difficult at all. Simply put, the Titan is not up to the standards of modern American trucks, and the Sierra 1500 easily beats it in every way that counts.
Engines and performance
The 2024 Nissan Titan is offered with just a single engine: a 5.6-liter V8 capable of towing only 9,660 pounds. This is comparable only to the standard four-cylinder TurboMax™ engine, which can tow 9,500 pounds while being much more affordable and efficient.[2] If you want more power from the Titan, you’re out of luck. Meanwhile, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 offers a 5.3-liter V8, 6.2-liter V8, and 3.0-liter Duramax® Turbo-Diesel, all more powerful than anything the Titan can muster, and the last two of which can tow upward of 13,000 pounds.[3]
Off-road capabilities
If you have a mind to travel the less beaten path, you’ll find it much easier in a GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 or AT4X than in the equivalent Nissan Titan PRO-4X. This is particularly true with the AT4X AEV package, which adds 35-inch tires, a winch-equipped steel front bumper, and steel rock sliders. The Titan PRO-4X rides on Bilstein shocks, which are not as capable as the Multimatic DSSV™ spool-valve dampers standard with the Sierra 1500 AT4X. The Nissan also has significantly inferior ground clearance at 9.8 inches at best, while the GMC truck can clear up to 11.2 inches.
Intelligent features
The 2024 Nissan Titan features a standard 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system with wired smartphone connectivity, with the option of upgrading to a 9-inch display. Going from this truck to the Sierra 1500 might make you wonder what Nissan is thinking. Similarly priced Sierra 1500 models have a standard 13.4-inch-diagonal touch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and wireless Android Auto™ smartphone integration, a 12.3-inch-diagonal digital gauge cluster, and a wide range of additional technologies that the Titan simply doesn’t offer. This includes hands-free driving assistance, up to 14 unique camera views, a dedicated Trailering App, and the ultra-flexible MultiPro Tailgate.
Luxurious comfort
GMC is known for the luxurious comforts of its Denali and Denali Ultimate trucks, which get features like 16-way power-adjustable seats with massaging functions, extensive leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, and a head-up display. Next to the Denali trucks, the competing Titan Platinum Reserve makes a poor showing. The leather isn’t as abundant and the tech isn’t as nice.
Don’t just take our word for it, though — visit Banks Auto in Concord, New Hampshire, to sit inside a GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate, and you’ll see for yourself just what we mean!
